Join us as we kick off a Summer of Cycling in Kentucky on Saturday, June 13th with this annual cyclo-tourist ride through the Red River Gorge Geographic Area. Cycle the Gorge features route options for riders of all ages, levels and abilities and offers fun for the whole family.
The Red River Gorge Geographic Area is located in eastern Kentucky in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Our routes take you through an incredibly scenic area that has been carved out of rock by millions of years of wind and water. The region features more than 80 natural bridges, rock shelters, historical sites, gorgeous views and some very unique vegetation - much of which is visible to riders as they Cycle the Gorge.
Our route options truly do offer something for everyone. Riders can opt to do an easy 35 mile round trip ride to the Natural Bridge State Park or select from our 52, 62, 84 or 104 mile options. ALL riders are fully supported with rest stops and SAG regardless of distance. ALL RIDES BEGIN AT 9:00AM on the 13th.
Registration is now available here:
REGISTRATION: On-site registration and packet pick up will be Friday, June 12th from 5 - 9 pm and Saturday morning from 7 am at the Senior Center in Stanton, KY.
NOTE: The 54, 62 (100K), 84 and 104 mile routes include passing through historic 900 foot long Nada Tunnel as you pass through the Red River Gorge. The tunnel is 900 feet long and is unlit. All riders must wear a bicycle helmet meeting ANSI or SNELL requirements. Riders under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
